Just one more tweak. One more revision. One more try to get it right.
You tell yourself it will only take a minute. But somehow, it never feels done.
If you know that loop, you are not alone.
That drive for perfection might come from care, from ambition, from high standards.
But sometimes it keeps us from ever feeling complete. Or from starting at all.
What if, instead of trying harder, you tried something unexpected?
Something that invites a little mess. A little wobble. A little play.
In today's video, I guide you through a short and surprising creative exercise that helps loosen the grip of perfectionism.
It is simple. It is playful. And it is intentionally imperfect.
You might even laugh.
And if you are used to overthinking, that might be the most refreshing thing of all.
There is something powerful about choosing imperfection on purpose.
When you engage in creative movement without control, your brain shifts out of judgment and into curiosity.
This makes space for insight, humour, and emotional release. No overachievement required.
Research shows that playful creative exercises can reduce anxiety and increase flexibility in thinking.
In other words, doing something weird on purpose might be just what your nervous system needs.
As you move through the exercise, you might catch yourself reacting.
You might notice resistance, awkwardness, or even surprise.
You might laugh, or feel silly, or wonder why it feels so freeing to draw something that is not “right.”
That is part of the process. And it is why you will need to watch the video to fully experience it.
We spend so much time trying to get things just right.
But creativity was never about control.
It is about exploration. And sometimes, the best thing you can do is let go of how it “should” look. Make something just because you can.
This week’s exercise is a gentle invitation to stop fixing and start playing.
And maybe, just maybe, feel your brain take a breath.
